seems uncomfortable. Leonard looks around.

Leonard taps Carrie's shoulder.

Hey, look who's here?

Sarah, standing across the room, waves to Carrie. Carrie
moves to Sarah.

CARRIE
Hey, you made it.

SARAH
Yeah, I figured sure, why not.

Agent Bob lays prone on the rooftop with binoculars and a
radio.

AGENT BOB
Good. Keep her attention, Sarah.
Doug's in the other room with the
looker.

Leonard nods his head. People mill about as before. Carrie
and Sarah talk in the background.

Leonard walks into a study room filled with memorabilia and
fancy furniture.

Doug and Trish stand near a window. It is a beautiful, sunny
day outside.

DOUG
If you look out, you can see a
great view of the bay.

TRISH
Wow, you're not kidding. I bet a
lot of girls think this is really
romantic.

Doug feigns surprise.

DOUG
Really? I wouldn't know.

Doug and Trish laugh.

Leonard walks up to Doug and Trish.

LEONARD
Damn, Dougy, this place is sweet.

DOUG
Uh yeah, Lenny.

LEONARD
But, seriously, don't you think so?
(to Trish)
Sorry, I didn't catch your name.

TRISH
Hi, I'm Trish.

LEONARD
Hi, I'm Leonard. Nice to meet you.

Doug grits his teeth.

DOUG
Look, Len, why don't you...

Doug freezes.

Carrie, standing in the doorway, waves.

CARRIE
Hey, Doug, your new place is nice.
How about a little tour?

LEONARD
(to Carrie)
Oh, you've never been here?

CARRIE
Yeah, he just moved here a week
ago, right?

Doug's eyes dart from side to side.

DOUG
Yeah, yeah. But, sure, I'll give
you a tour. I'll be back in a bit.

TRISH
Oh, ok. I'll enjoy the view.

Doug walks to the doorway. Trish looks out the window.

Carrie exits.

Right before Doug exits, he scowls at Leonard.

EXT. ROOFTOP - DAY

Agent Bob looks through his binoculars as he lays on the
roof.

Agent Bob moves the binoculars and wipes sweat off his
forehead.

INT. DOUG'S APARTMENT - DAY

People mill around the television. The Television shows the
superbowl with 3 minutes left.

Leonard stands in the back of the room with Trish.

TRISH
See, that's why I think the
government should have the right to
do things. Because, we need them
to protect us.

LEONARD
Ahhh.

Leonard looks away.

Sarah talks to Carrie across the room.

TRISH
So, really, I don't want to know
what's really going on, you know
what I mean? It just doesn't make
sense to me.

EXT. ROOFTOP - DAY

Agent Bob on the roof with binoculars.

AGENT BOB
Hey, Leonard, I think we're home
free. You can get out of there.

INT. DOUG'S APARTMENT - DAY

Trish talks to Leonard as people mill about.

LEONARD
Well, uh, you're definitely unique.
Hey, it was nice meeting you.

TRISH
Nice meeting you too.

Leonard turns away from Trish.

Leonard exhales, puffing out his cheeks.

Leonard moves to Carrie and Sarah.

SARAH
Seems like you had a bit of
conversation there.

LEONARD
You ever talk to someone where you
just couldn't find a way to leave?

Sarah and Carrie laugh.

CARRIE
And you find yourself in something
and you're not sure why? Yeah, I
relate.

The television shows a minute left in the superbowl.

CARRIE
You know, I think I'm going to take
off and beat the rush. See you
tomorrow, ok?

LEONARD
Cool, see you later.

Carrie walks away.

Leonard exhales again.

Carrie waves to Doug and exits out the door.

LEONARD
Well, I guess we're done.

SARAH
I hope someone's happy with their
perfect football game.

The television shows a team lining up for a long field goal.
There are 10 seconds on the clock.

ANNOUNCER (V.O.)
(muffled)
This is it, one kick to decide the
game.

All the people turn to the television.

Leonard appears relaxed.

Suddenly, Carrie appears next to Leonard.

CARRIE
Oh, hey, I think I left my sweater
here.

Leonard looks surprised.

LEONARD
Whoa, you're back. Uh, lemme see.

Leonard looks around.

CARRIE
Yeah, it's around here somewhere.

The television shows a team kicking a field goal.

ANNOUNCER (V.O.)
(muffled)
The kick is up.

Suddenly Carrie freezes, focused on something across the
room.

Across the room, Doug flirts with Trish and gives her a
playful kiss.

The television shows the football in the air. Suddenly, a
gust of wind hits the football, pushing it to the side. The
football hits the upright and bounces out.

ANNOUNCER (V.O.)
(muffled)
No good! No good! I don't know
what happened. It looked like a
gust of wind caught the ball.

Carrie stares at Doug and Trish kissing.

Carrie turns and storms out the door.

The skies outside begin to fill with clouds.
