taller than Bones, but stands a step away.

BONES
Face it, big man, you can't guard
me.

Bones shoots a jumper right in Priest's face - nothing but
net.

DJ
In your face, big man. You gonna
let him do that to you?

Priest growls.

Bones goes back on defense. Priest posts up against Hans.

Jerry dribbles up the ball.

PRIEST
Yo!

Jerry passes the ball to Priest, but Bones darts in out of
nowhere and steals the pass.

BONES
Oh, you have got to do better than
that.

Bones dribbles the ball on a fast break with Jerry trying to
guard him.

Bones takes a hard dribble at the free throw line and stops.
Jerry keeps running.

Bones shoots a jumper and swishes it.

BONES
You guys gonna play any defense
today? This is too easy.

Priest glares at Bones.

PRIEST
Why don't you try coming into the
paint?

BONES
Man, this ain't the cage. Out here
is my house, I own this court.

Bones raises his hands, gesturing to the crowd. The crowd
cheers.

BONES
Oh yeah.

Outside the court, ICE (25), a thug with rhinestones on his
teeth, stands next to a few DRUG DEALERS.

ICE
Sorry, playa, this is our house.
Oh yeah.

DRUG DEALERS
Heh, heh, heh.

EXT. RUCKER PARK - NIGHT

Crowds are gathered in the stands as Bones and other players
run on the court. The three old men sit in the bleachers.

Bones makes a slick crossover.

SAL
Jimmy "Bones" Smith. Didn't he win
the city championship?

LARRY
Yeah, last year at St. Joes with
his man Pablo.

Pablo and Bones slap hi-fives.

RUSSELL
Oh that's nothing. Last year, June
24. They called him all day...

SAL
Because he didn't miss a shot all
day.

Bones does a shake-and-bake move, leaving a defender in his
wake.

LARRY
Whoo, wee... Best shake and bake
since Earl "The Goat" Manigault.
You want sweetness, city
championship game last year...

INT. ST. JOSEPH'S GYM - DAY

The gym is filled with screaming fans. Pablo and Bones are
dressed in St. Joseph's jerseys.

Pablo passes the ball to Bones.

LARRY (V.O.)
Bones was shaking cats, making them
look stupid.

Bones fakes right. The defender steps to Bones' right.

Bones drives around the defender, who tries to recover and
falls down.

Bones takes an open shot, knocking it down.

LARRY (V.O.)
Broke so many ankles they had to
call an ambulance.

The buzzer sounds. The scoreboard reads, "St. Joseph's 69,
Visitors 58." The crowd cheers.

Bones and Pablo give each other a hug.

EXT. RUCKER PARK - NIGHT

Bones and the others playing as before. The three old men in
the stands as before.

The ball flies to Bones, who does a catch-and-shoot.

SAL
So, where's he playing his college
ball?

LARRY
He's not. Don't know why? Lots of
college teams need a boy like that.

Bones adjusts his black do-rag.

RUSSELL
My man, don't ask questions you
don't want answered.

Bones takes a long jumper. Bones admires his shot as it goes
through the hoop.
