Bones (19) - skinny, 6 foot black kid from the streets.

Pablo (17) - fat, 6-2 hispanic kid

Priest (35) - hulking 6-10 black police officer

Jerry (23) - 5-10 chinese guy with a goatee

Cheryl (31) - 6-0 black lady who's a lawyer by day.

Hans (25) - 6-8 German man who dresses stylish

Bunyan (18) - 7-2 with wild red hair and dressed from the
70s.

Skittles (9) - shy brunette girl who watches excitedly.
The Three Old Men
- Sal (70s) - white haired and wrinkly.
- Larry (70s) - balding black grandpa with glasses
- Russell (70s) - tall, thin with a white mustache

DJ (26) - short fellow with a loud voice



EXT. THE CAGE - DAY

Priest and others players run with a basketball inside a
small basketball court surrounded by chainlink fences. Sal
walks outside the fence with Skittles.

SAL
West fourth street courts, the
Cage. Some of the meanest hombres
learned how to play here.

Priest pushes a player aside and grabs a rebound.

SAL
Though I'm not sure if they learned
basketball or wrassalin'.

Bones and Bunyan stand against another fence.

The ball hits the fence in front of Bones and Bunyan.

Priest and another player crash into the fence in front of
Bones and Bunyan.

Priest and the other player move away. Bones holds his nose.

BONES
Forget this, it hurts just
watching.

Bones walks away.

Priest posts up against JAMAL (19), an athletic youth.

PRIEST
Sorry, kis this is my house.

Jamal spins and fronts Priest.

JAMAL
Sorry, someone told me your tricks.

Priest glares at Jamal and shoves him to the side.

Jamal flies into the fence.

Priest holds up his hand and receives the ball.

Priest bounces off a defender and scores a layup.

Priest points at his bicep and glares at Jamal, who lays on
the ground.

PRIEST
Did they tell you about this.

Priest walks to a gate, where Bunyan stands. In the
distance, ICE (25), a thug with a lot of shiny jewelry,
watches Priest.

PRIEST
Yo, big man here'll take my place.
(to Bunyan)
All you, Bunyan.

BUNYAN
You're done?

PRIEST
Yeah, work calls.

Bunyan nods and enters the court. Priest exits and walks
away from the Cage.

JAMAL (O.S.)
Yo, what do they call you, big man?

BUNYAN (O.S.)
My name's Paul.

Priest looks back at The Cage and frowns.



EXT. POLICE STATION - NIGHT

The police station is a multi-story brick building with a
sign, "Police," and a flight of stairs at the exit. Priest,
dressed in his police uniform, walks out of the police
station and walks down the steps.

Cheryl, dressed in her suit, walks up the steps.

CHERYL
Hey, Priest.

PRIEST
Hi Cheryl, how's the city's best
assistant DA tonight?

CHERYL
Probably having a nice dinner after
sending me to do his junk.

Priest and Cheryl laugh.

CHERYL
So, any plans for tomorrow?

PRIEST
Oh, I don't know...

CHERYL
Come on, it's a big day. You
should do something special.

PRIEST
Doesn't matter, I won't be doing
what I really want, anyway.

Priest looks down at the ground.

Cheryl touches Priest's arm. Priest pulls away.

PRIEST
Hey, it's ok. I'll be fine. See
you later ok?

Priest walks down the stairs, away from Cheryl.

CHERYL
Uh, ok. Bye.

Cheryl looks concerned as Priest walks away.



INT/EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

Priest drives a police car down the street.

Priest sees a couple boys dribbling a basketball down the
street. Priest looks down for a second.

Priest shines a light at the boys.

PRIEST
Hey, kind of late for your boys to
be out.

BOY #1
Sorry, officer, just shooting hoops
with my brother and lost track of
time.

Priest smiles a little.

PRIEST
Its alright, just head on home, ok?

BOY #1
Yes, sir.

There is the sound of a radio squack.

DISPATCHER (V.O.)
(muffled)
Calling all cars, burglary in
progress at 56th and Main. I
repeat burglary in progress at 56th
and Main.

Priest's eyes focus forward.

Priest screeches down the street.



EXT. DARK ALLEY - NIGHT

Priest drives up to a dark alley and shines his light around.

DISPATCHER (V.O.)
(muffled)
Be on the lookout for two men in
black stocking hats and
sweatshirts.

Priest drives past the alley.

In the back of the alley, two shadowy figures climb out of a
building window.

Priest stops his car and backs it up.

Priest shines his spotlight into the alley.

PRIEST
Hey!

The two shadowy figures take off running.

Priest swerves into the alley.

PRIEST
(into radio)
Car 531 in pursuit of suspects.

The shadowy figures run up to a chainlink fence.

The shadowy figures climb the chainlink fence.

PRIEST
Aww, man.

Priest screeches to a halt and jumps out of his car

The shadowy figures land on the opposite side of the fence
and run.

Priest jumps and grabs the top of the fence.

Priest pulls himself over the fence, swings over, and lands
on the opposite side.

Priest reaches for his radio as he runs.

PRIEST
Car 531 pursuing two suspects on
foot.

The shadowy figures knock over a few trash cans.

Priest runs and jumps over the trash cans.

The shadowy figures run to a street. One shadowy figure
pushes the other.

SHADOWY FIGURE #1
Go, split up!

The shadowy figures run off in different directions.

PRIEST
Suspects split up, headed north and
south down 58th.

Priest turns after Shadowy Figure #1.

Shadowy Figure #1 looks back at Priest, who is gaining
rapidly on him.

Shadowy Figure #1 trips over a rock on the sidewalk.

Shadowy Figure #1 crashes into the ground.

Priest tackles Shadowy Figure #1.

PRIEST
I got you, punk.

Priest wrestles Shadowy Figure #1's arms back.

Priest handcuffs Shadowy Figure #1.

Priest sits Shadowy Figure #1 on the sidewalk.

There are the sounds of sirens in the distance.

PRIEST
Nice running, you gave me a bit of
a work out.

Priest pulls off Shadowy Figure's stocking hat, revealing it
to be Jamal.

JAMAL
Hey, I know you.

Priest looks surprised.
