FADE IN:
INT. SMUGGLER'S WAREHOUSE - DAY
Title Card: El Salvador
Under rusty lamps, dozens of masked workers pack loads of
guns, drugs, and cash. Armed guards stand watch along the
walls.
A FOREMAN nods in approval. Then he heads up a staircase.
INT. SMUGGLER'S WAREHOUSE - OFFICE - DAY
The Foreman enters a business office with desks and loads of
computer servers and wires. Across the room, two men focus
on something.
NICK LAZON - 35, strong and intimidating, with a healed stab
wound on his throat and a gravel voice as a result. Despite
his flawless complexion, everyone knows this man has done a
lot of real bad shit.
BRIAN SEAHORNE - 30s, in a lazy t-shirt and shorts, looking
like he spent the last decade alternating between his
computer and the beach.
Nick glares and grits his teeth. Seahorne looks nervous.
Suddenly, he jumps to his feet.
SEAHORNE
Yes! Wooo!
In front of the two men, a TV shows a rally car race on
"Speed Channel." The checkered flag waves and the driver
raises his fist out the window. A banner reads, "Champion!"
NICK
Dammit.
With a smile, Nick slaps a dollar onto the seat.
Seahorne grabs the dollar and holds it over his head. He
does this the whole way as he moves to a computer.
The screen shows a spreadsheet, listing coffee, beans, and
other foods. Seahorne switches to a screen that reads, "All
systems ok," along with a bunch of graphs.
The foreman whispers into Nick's ear. Nick nods and moves
towards the door.
NICK
Hey, Brian.
SEAHORNE
I told you two years ago, the less
I know about downstairs the better.
I just do computers.
NICK
Dumbass, we're gonna go hit some
golf balls with the mayor.
EXT. EL SALVADOR STREETS - DAY
On an impoverished street, a gate opens and a brand-new
Mercedes SUV slinks onto the street.
INT/EXT. MERCEDES - DAY
A driver chauffeurs Nick, Seahorne, and a Bodyguard.
NICK
Should have bet on the Evo.
SEAHORNE
The Mitsubishi's nice, but it ain't
an Audi Quattro.
NICK
Oh? Then why is Mitsubishi winning
every race?
SEAHORNE
Because Audi got sick of dominating
the circuit and pulled out.
BOOM! A cart explodes outside. Windows are blasted out,
falling whole into the car. Shrapnel kills the driver, and
the car smashes into a roadside stand.
GUNMEN on motorcycles approach from behind and fire.
NICK
Shit!
Nick fights through the shell shock and returns fire.
Seahorne seems shocked for a moment. Then he throws the
driver aside and jumps into the driver's seat.
The Mercedes crashes through carts and screeches off.
Front tires rise off the ground as the motorcycles give
chase. A pickup truck also joins the attackers.
The Bodyguard fires wildly. Nick grabs his shoulders.
NICK
Save your ammo for the fuckers
shooting at us.
Ahead, a sedan approaches. Gunmen lean out and aim weapons
at the Mercedes.
Seahorne hits both pedals and turns. The Mercedes enters a
controlled slide, smashing into the sedan, knocking it off
the road. Gunmen fly out of the sedan.
Then the Mercedes drives down a side street.
A half-mile ahead lies a railroad crossing. The gates lower
and the red lights flash. The train speeds down the tracks
ready to crush anything in its path.
Seahorne guns the engine. The pursuers keep pace.
Nick fires, hitting a motorcycle, causing the rider to fall
and tumble on the ground. Then he sees the train.
NICK
Brian!
But Seahorne's in the zone. He turns the wheel, sending the
Mercedes skidding sideways in a perfect drift. Smoke flies
from the tires. Suddenly, the Mercedes stops skidding and
rockets down an access road parallel to the train tracks.
The pursuers attempt the same turn. But the motorcycle goes
down, the pickup flips, and the sedan spins out, coming to a
rest on the tracks.
In the sedan, a gunman shakes his head to clear the cobwebs.
BLARING HORNS
He looks up in terror.
CRASH!!! The train pulverizes the sedan, carrying its
burning remains down the track.
The Mercedes zooms away.
NICK
Damn, where'd you learn to drive
like that.
SEAHORNE
Speed Channel.
Nick laughs. Seahorne looks out the window and exhales.
